The cat is out of the sack and the teams are chosen. Don’t fall for the perfectly organised drawing ceremony today, you’ll be disappointed with the real picture back stage.
As of today, the national teams all around Europe and beyond (Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, etc.) can start their preparations for the next European championships in Poland and Ukraine.
I would be lying if I would say I was waiting desperately for this draw or the upcoming tournament. This ill atmosphere in my mind is caused by the constant chaos (no stadiums, no hotels, no roads, no money etc.) in Poland and Ukraine. But also to the desolate state of the Polish national team. Not qualified for the World Cup 2010 in South Africa. Two years of friendly games coming up. The ignorant and reckless treatment of the supporters in Poland by the outlaws of the Polish FA representatives.
My appetite has long faded.
Although observing the slick and legendary Zbigniew Boniek reaching into baskets, just made me hope for a better future of Polish football.
His clean and phenomenal CV, free of any dirty business, full of success. A winner. One of a kind.
The saviour of Polish football, treated so unfairly by the managers of the Polish FA who are nailed to their seats.
His competencies would save Polish football from total devastation.
Why was he brought down to the role of picking the balls from the baskets?
Let’s have a look at Boniek’s magic hands:
Group A: Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Belgium, Austria, Turkey, Germany.
Group B: Andorra, Armenia, Macedonia, Ireland, Slovakia, Russia.
Group C: Faroe Islands, Estonia, Slovenia, Northern Ireland, Serbia, Italy.
Group D: Luxemburg, Albania, Belarus, Bosnia i Herzegovina, Romania, France.
Group E: San Marino, Moldova, Hungary, Finland, Sweden, Holland.
Group F: Malta, Georgia, Latvia, Israel, Greece, Croatia.
Group G: Montenegro, Wales, Bulgaria, Switzerland, England.
Group H: Iceland, Cyprus, Norway, Denmark, Portugal.
Group I: Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Scotland, Czech Republic, Spain.
